“The LENA Grow program helped me pinpoint the times during the day that I, as the teacher, was actively talking to the children in the classroom. That, in turn, helped me to be intentional with my conversations with the children. The program also helped identify which children in my classroom were talking throughout the day. I would use the data from the previous week to make a mental note to observe particular children. I would use the data to see if that child had a special interest. I would try to strike up a conversation about their special interest to encourage them to talk more.”
